Installing MR 2012....

I have Management Reporter 2012 on a new server today, but when go through the Configure Management Reporter and put in the information there, I get an error that says, "Database configuration: the master password could not be validated against the password policy."

Any advice on how to resolve this?  Thank you.

    When you move an MR2012 database to a different SQL server, the master encryption key is no long good and you have to reset that at the DB level.

    Microsoft has written a KB about this process : support.microsoft.com/.../error-messages-when-you-restore-a-microsoft-management-reporter-2012-d

    We didn't move the database, we are creating a new one instead.

    So you're installing MR 2012 from scratch with no prior data ?

    Then it looks like the domain service account you're using is not allowed by security to access the SQL server.. check your SQL Security.

    Try using the 'sa' user account to connect to the SQL server to validate the databases and the DYNAMICS connection.

    What version of MR did you install?

    I cannot find any documentation on installing the service packs can I jump from RU1 v2.1.1028.0 directly to CU16 v2.12.16005.1 and then apply HF  3858003 for GP2018 support?

    Will the data mart need to be recreated? Any other steps?
