Data Re-import Shows Complete But No Data Changed

I exported data, and cleared a column (except the heading). Then I re-imported those records, and the clearing succeeded for that column for those records.

Now I want to add that data back (the exact same stuff). When I import (either the original export which had the data or even the successful blank import file with the data copied over from the original export) it says Parsing->Transforming -> Completed. But no data is updated and it shows 0 successes/errors.

I'm sure the A/B/C columns are still there.

What am I doing wrong here?

Fixed by using a new export and then copying the data. I guess CRM doesn't like the same file being used to import twice (even if it has been modified).
