I read the documentation for Rapid Implementation tool for migrating data from an existing system to GP. My company does not use Peach Tree or Quick Book so I suppose the only option left for me is the Excel Template. Can anyone tell more details about how to migrate data using Excel Template ? Do we have to manually enter the data into the Excel Template in order to migrate data into GP ? Also , what should we run first the Rapid Migration tool or the configuration tool after installing GP ?

You are correct. You would need to use the Excel Template migrate your data from your other system. You would need to manually enter all the information into the Excel template.
In terms of running the configuration or migration tool first, typically you would only do one or the other however the Excel template does not contain any company setup information to enter in. So with that, I would try running the Configuration first, then try bringing in the data from excel. The thing you need to be careful of is both the Rapid Configuration and Rapid Migration portions will bring in Accounts. You would need to bringin in your account with one or the other. I would say bringing in the account from the Excel Template rather than from the configuration wizard. I haven't tested this sequence yet to be sure there would not be any data validation issues so be sure to test this out before attempting your actually live migration to be sure it will be able to bring over what you need.
