There is a contact field i-on the Ship-to Address card.
Any reason why this is not selectable from the contacts for the customer associated with this ship-to ??? Right now it's simply a text field.

Correct - this is the way it is out of the box - which does not make sense to me seeing that we already have contact functionality within the system.

it doesn't seem to be a bugger. From what I see, if this is not out of the box, you might need to work with a dev for a minor customization.
Nope - I'm talking about on the Ship-To address.... On the Ship-To Card, accessible from a Customer Card.
I guess you refer to the below fields, one from sales order and the other from the customer card. My impression is they are not of the same usage, though for certain customer it is. The one on sales order is more likely for someone working in a warehouse as it is used together with location. Other experts might pitch in more light.
