Sharepoint on-premise Integration for Dynamics 365 Sales Online / PowerApps MDA

I'm currently looking for the possibility to integrate Sharepoint on-premise into Dynamics 365 Online (or PowerApps Model Driven App) Therefore I found two approaches which look like quite different to me:

Either using server-based authentication: Configure server-based authentication with SharePoint on-premises - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn

Or using a Data Gateway: On-premises data gateway - Power Automate | Microsoft Learn

Is there any difference or do they have different limitations?

Hi,

According to the official documentation.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/data-integration/gateway/service-gateway-onprem-indepth#how-the-gateway-works
Power Apps can connect to SharePoint On-Premises through the On-Premises gateway.
There is no mention of Dynamics 365 Online connectivity to On-Premises data sources.

Therefore, integrating SharePoint On-Premises with Dynamics 365 Online should follow the official documentation below.

Configure server-based authentication with SharePoint on-premises - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn

And integrating PowerApps with SharePoint On-Premises can be done through the On-Premises gateway.
