Hello everyone,

I wasnt able to find the solution or an already existing thread - so I'm asking here.

In the migration-option you'll get a template e.g. for articles and there's also a column called "Description 2".

I filled it out with information and migrated all the information sucesfully, but unfortunately I can't see the "Description 2" headline and information when I click on that article.

I also found an solution with "Master Data Information" for Dynamics, but is there an easier way to add that content to my article card?

Im looking forward hearing from you,

Sincerely Andreas

    Alexander,

Are you talking about the Item Card Description 2 field you are migrating? If yes, you need to ask your Partner to add the field to the Item Fast Tab. It is present but not a field exposed in personalization.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Hello Steve, thanks for your fast reply!

I dont think we have a partner, we only bought dynamics business central.

Is it difficult to set it up? Is it possible to do that by myself or do I need some special programming skills?

    Thankfully,

    Alexander

    Hi Alex,

It is not a very complicated piece of code that you need to write, but you will still need to write it.

The following resources should be enough to get it done.

I will still recommend some partner for this or if this is a once in a year kind of change then maybe you can look at Freelancers who will do it for you.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../devenv-get-started

    docs.microsoft.com/.../devenv-page-ext-object

    docs.microsoft.com/.../devenv-deploy-tenant-customization

    Alexander,

Users can purchase BC without a Partner. It is not overall difficult to install but you should read up on it and learn each granule functional area. A Partner provides both support and expertise implementing BC with experience. As for programming, I am not a VS programmer so I will leave that answer to others in the Forum.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Many fields are hidden by default. With some, you can add these to the page using either personalisation or role centre customisation.

Other fields which aren’t available in the personalisation menu can be added using ‘Design’ mode in the sandbox.

The process is almost identical to personalisation with some important differences.

The change needs to be moved from sandbox to live by somebody with basic developer skills.

The change will apply to everyone.

You could make the changes yourself in the sandbox and request your partner copies them to your production database.

Hello guys, thanks to everyone who helped me!

Im sorry for the late response due to my restricted access.

Now I got the problem as soon as I try to install either the free trial of "Master Data Information" or the "Simple Object Designer" of Hougaard, I always get the error message that I dont have the required permission to install such an app. I should talk to my partner or administrator. Although we dont have a partner and I logged in with the admin log-in.

    Any suggestions?

    Stay save,

    Alex
