In a number of my social pane records i have "Customer Not Found" showing up above the description text.  Any idea why it is giving that text and what can be done to fix that or have it show the subject?

I haven't seen this before. However it might help if you could possibly provide additional information on this like

    1. Did it just start showing up recently or was it always like that?

    2. If you add new content on Social Pane does it still show that for the new records too?

    3. Did you delete records that were referenced by the posts? Are these activity feed posts or activities?

    4. A screenshot of the social pane.

I can reproduce this bug - just created a new CRM 2013 trial and got the same behavior!

No Idea why but it looks like there is a bug with telephone activities.

    kind regards gerald

I have this occurring in my CRM instance as well - many activities showing "Customer Not Found" in the social pane.

I am also seeing this all of the sudden. Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 SP1 On-Premise. If you hover over the title, the actual subject is displayed. I'm sorry I cannot capture the screen even with the snipping tool "menu" capture trick. Tooltips disappear as soon as the keyboard is touched.

I have had similar issues.  For me this occurred when assigning the phone call record to a "team."  If I assign to user I do not experience the same issue.  Not sure if this is the case for everyone.

Please check the Call From field of your phone call activity. In my experience, I have no use for the Call From as it just becomes an extra and redundant information already supplied by the Owner field. However I ran a test with Call From filled out with my user or not. I'll add the screenshots to show you.

Next, I added my user to the Call From field, saved the record and returned the Account screen.

So for some strange reason, the Social Pane seems to be hard coded to only show the Call From field which is only helpful if you use the Add Phone Call feature of the Social Pane that creates a completed phone call and will display the contact's name. Since customization of the Social Pane is Extremely limited, it seems we're just waiting for Microsoft to fix their broken software again.

The information displayed is either the "Call From" or the "Call To" depending on whether the call is an Outgoing or Incoming call.

If the "Call To" is missing for an Outgoing call then the title on the Social Pane entry will be "Customer not found".

If the "Call From" is missing for an Incoming call then the title on the Social Pane entry will be "Customer not found".

RE: Social Pane: Customer Not Found

There's no reason to add Customer Not Found. It could just be blank if you haven't filled out the Call From or Call To depending on whether it's incoming or outgoing. That's just confusing to have a placeholder that basically says, "I don't know". If your system doesn't have information to display, leave it blank.
