Error "The product and the unit cannot be updated while the entity is locked" when creating Order Product

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to create a new Order Product from an active Order but when i try to save it with all the required fields filled it throws the error "The product and the unit cannot be updated while the entity is locked". Do you know how can i solve this to be able to save that new record?

I've seen the following refers that are not working in my case:

Thanks, David - I just stumbled on that myself. Any ramifications to doing that (besides the difference between the quote and the order)? Keeping in mind that we are using a different accounting system, and that we have no inventory.

The most likely cause is if the pricing has been locked on the order. If so, you'll need to unlock the pricing. By default, the toolbar on the order form will display either Lock Pricing or an Unlock Pricing button, depending on the current state, though note that some users may not see these buttons, depending on their permissions
