Assembly order module questions.

Hello Everyone,

  • Some pieces have in Assembly BOM within an Item that has Assembly BOM as a component. If we do not have stock of that item, when performing a Assembly Order can we auto create the necessary Assembly BOM?

  • How would I make an order of 100 pieces if 50 are in my stock and 50 need to be ordered. Since the Item is created as Assembly to Stock how would that work? Do we have to have two item No's? One for Stock and one for Order?
I have the same question (0)

    Hi

You don’t need separate item numbers for stock and order. Business Central can handle partial stock and automatically plan assembly orders for the remaining quantity if you use planning tools. Nested assemblies need either manual creation or planning-based automation

    Thanks

    Hello,

You don’t need two item numbers.
If only part of the required quantity is in stock, enter the full order quantity and fill in the Qty. to Assemble to Order for the shortage.
Business Central will automatically create an assembly order for that missing quantity.
You can mix stocked and assembled quantities on the same order.
Nested assemblies will trigger sub-assembly orders as needed.
Use Assemble-to-Stock for stocked items and Assemble-to-Order for custom or non-stock builds.
Always check component availability using the Assembly Availability page

    Regards,
    Oussama
