Hello, I want to learn the actual use of special order like how it is used in actual scenarios because the thing is that we can post special sales order without creating any kind of purchase order. along with that if I make purchase order for that special order, the inventory which will be consumed is not from the ILE which is created at the time of receipt of the purchase order then what is the point of it. so please explain the use or suggest some readings so that i can understand the use of special sales order.

In short, using Special Order can associate Purchase Order with Sales Order. And you can quickly create a purchase order from a sales order.

For example,

In Purchase Order:

And unlike Drop Shipment, they do not have to be posted at the same time.
