Tax Areas not displaying all countries

Hello,

I have a BE license for Canada. I want to implement tax jurisdictions of France/EU. While I am trying to create my Tax areas, I can only find US and CAN to choose for. Can any one suggest why? I have included all countries in country list though. Is it because of license purchasing country? If I want to add another country's Tax jurisdictions what should I do?

TIA...

    Hello,

I just asked around internally. Here is what the team did answer me.

Is the country version of the tenant CA? Then only the CA localization is available. The license only provides the permission to use the BE localization. The license does not influence the objects in the tenant / database. In the “old days” we had the cross-version-licensing guideline.

Basically, if you want to use BE functionality in a CA database, you had to take the BE objects, renumber them and then implement them into the CA database. Then you were able to use BE functionality in the CA database.

This may be still possible with extensions. Maybe someone else from partner community has done this exercise  already. This is typically not done by Microsoft.

Hope the above does help you to get going.

    Hello Marco,

Thanks for your response. Yes, we do have license for CA. As you have mentioned BC doesn't have that cross-country tax jurisdiction facilities currently. Which they should I believe; if any organization is managing business in multiple countries they need to look after licensing as well apart from business perspective.

As you mentioned "This may be still possible with extensions." Do you think we can make custom development for it? If you know any information about existing extensions please suggest.

    Thank you

    Hello,

If the issue is indeed related to what I did describe earlier, that was indeed what partners did themselves (renaming objects and importing them). It is not something that Microsoft support can assist with.

Maybe someone else in this community forum can provide some further suggestions.

    Thanks.
