SOP Transaction allowed Lot which is not exist

Hello Friends

System does allow to add Lot Number which does not exist plus it won’t deplete Inventory.  It just added qty on Total Sales but Qty On Hand and Qty Available does not change.

Why does system allow? 

Any one can guide me please.

    the system is set up to allow overrides on inventory quantities???

    Hello Tami,

    Issue is not with overrides qty.  e.g. On Sales Transaction--> Lot Item selected. Total Qty Available 10 with LOT# LOT-001 Available Qty 10; But In SOP Lot entry screen I can enter Lot # which is not exist for qty 10 save and posted.  My Inventory is same as intact as 10 Qty and LOT-001  is also showing 10 as available Qty.  I am not sure what happened to entry which just posted.

    The transaction was obviously over rode because it didnt deplete your existing inventory

    it is in your Sales Order Processing setup> options> override qty shortages

    Inventory Control setup >tick Use Existing Serial/Lot Numbers Only on Decrease and Transfer Transactions

    Hi,

    I agree with Tami. The system will create items out of thin air if you haven't marked the box "Use Existing Serial/Lot Numbers Only on Decrease and Transfer Transactions". On the setup window.

    Hi, it could be many years since this was last discussed but i recently encountered the same situation and is currently thinking of ways to correct the quantity on hand.

    Like what Sandip had mentioned, the quantity is just created in thin air without proper receiving causing data to be incorrect in HITB.

    What is the way we can resolve this? Anyone can advise?
