Dear All,

I am looking for Multilingual GP, where you can install the add on and change the language at the user level. I have contacted the Multilingaul GP provider already and they confirmed terminated their development of the product and selling it.  Does anyone knows other addon which does this job.

    Hi Babu,

    The only thing that I'm aware of comes from Microsoft. It comes up when you install the workstation software and asks what language you want to use. I worked at a client's office in Costa Rica and some of the workstation's had the Spanish version while others had the English version. That said, I think there might be different chunk files for 'localized' versions of GP. I know French Canadian has their own releases.

    What language were you looking for? Somewhere I saw that someone had been able to create a version with an Asian or Middle East kind of language. (I apologize for butchering that 'kind of language' part, but heck, I'm from the US. We US citizens barely know our own language - <forlorn smile goes here>)

    Hi Leslie,

    We are looking for German language.  Yes I can download the German version of GP and install a new instance with German language on it and login to existing company, but only the menus will be in German not the content which is already in English.  The same work the other way when user enter all in German in GP and other user who login to GP see only German not English.

    So you are wanting to translate the 'data' into another language? Like the comments and description fields inside the data tables? If so, I have no idea.

    Hi Babu -

    I too am trying to track down this feature but for Dynamics GP 2013.  I know it existed for version 10 as here is a youtube.com video of it.  What did your research find?  We are only trying to change the field labels in the windows, etc. - not the data itself - just like in this short video:  www.youtube.com/watch

    By default, Dynamics GP only has three translated versions: English-U.S, Spanish-Latin America and French-Canadian.

    As per the video of Microsoft Dynamics GP printing a Chinese invoice, I also know that by default, because Dynamics GP is only supported on two SQL Sort Order/Collation setups: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS (52 / DOCI) and Latin1_General_BIN (0 / Binary) and due to the language Dynamics GP is written in, Dexterity, it was never designed to handle double byte or unicode and so Dynamics GP cannot support or handle Chinese characters.

    I think I saw a couple of third-party products that used to enable you to maybe do this type of thing, but not sure they are still available.

    The Multilingual GP product is no longer available to purchase. The ISV no longer exists and code was never escrowed as far as I can tell - take a look at my article dynamicsgpblogster.blogspot.com/.../multilingual-gp.html for more info
