Is there an issue with Contacts syncing to cell phones when using the Outlook CRM Add - In?

I've heard that there is an issue with Contacts syncing to cell phones or something when using the Outlook CRM Add - In?  Basically it like auto-syncs all CRM contacts and people's cell phones become flooded.  Can someone clarify this issue and what is the best way to get around this?

you can control which contacts needs to be sync with user by configuring Local Groups definitions for the users.

So this depends entirely on how you set up syncing.  By default, if you turn on the Outlook CRM plugin, it will sync Contacts you own.  If you own a whole lot, maybe you  don't want to do that.  Fortunately, you can turn off that automatic sync in the Settings of the CRM plugin.

It can also be an issue if you decide to sync all CRM contacts to your Outlook, which potentially could be a huge list.

    Thanks for the reply.

So if I install the Outlook plugin for CRM any contact that I am the owner of in "CRM" automatically syncs to my outlook contacts, correct?  This means that if Outlook syncs to my cell phone which I assume it does to a lot of users, it would cause all of these contacts to now show up in the phone book on the cellular device, correct?

It's good that I can turn off the automatic sync in the settings of the CRM plugin... but if it's on by default after the plugin is installed is there any way to stop the initial sync?  It sounds like these contacts will sync automatically after the plugin is installed which now makes sense to me what the problem I've heard about is.

Just following up on this.  Is there a way to stop the automatic sync when the Outlook plugin is first installed?  I believe this is the issue I heard about in that it will automatically sync all CRM contacts to user's phones.  It's good we can turn it off but it seems like that would happen after the fact?
