Hello,
This error just started appearing very recently. In trying to release an order, the attached error occurs, claiming the status is 'Pending Approval' when the status is clearly 'Open'. This doesn't seem to be happening for other sales orders, so here are some things that may be related: this order was previously released, it was re-opened to fix typos; in the sales order table, the order is marked as 'Completely Shipped'.
We don't use pending approval workflows in this implementation, so there is nothing in the list of entries waiting approval either.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Seems like it is related to an extension or the workflow that you have. Best to contact your partner and do a debug.
