Using Extender Windows across multiple GP Windows

I have a couple of Extender Windows defined against specific GP windows.  For example, I have one that is linked to Sales Transaction Entry, and another that is linked to RMA Entry/Update in Field Services.  In the RMA example, access to the extender windows goes away once the RMA has been closed.  I suspect this is because the data has been moved to another SQL table in field services that holds the history records.  If my extender window could also be linked to the RMA Inquiry window, then I could see the data no matter what status the RMA was in.

You might ask "why don't you just create the Extender window to reference the Inquiry Window?".  I thought of that...but that would require my users to exit entry/update, and go into the inquiry window to capture the data they are logging while the RMA is open.

I suspect, but have not yet validated, that I am going to have the same problems with the windows linked to the Sales Transaction Entry window.

Any suggestions?

Purchase the Enterprise versison of Extender. I think you could do it (clumsily) with standard, but the elegant and 'oh so useful' answer would be eXtender Enterprise.

    Hi Rick.

When you create the extender window you can choose Inquiry button and attach the Extender window to as many windows as you like as long as the key information is available.

Typically you would add the extender window to all the Inquiry or Zoom windows of GP.

Once the extender window has been attached you can click the option button and make the window Read only or Editable from this other window.

    Hope this helps
