GP 2013 R2 Web Client: Alternate Modified Reports

Hi,

We modified the "Payables Transaction Edit List MultiCurrency Management" report with report writer. In the GP client, the report is correct. When the the report is displayed in the web client, it is missing some information. I tried to look at the "Edit Launch File" in the web client, but it is not available. I opened the GP client on the web client server and checked the "Launch File", and it is pointing to the correct reports dictionary. Also, the user does have access to the report. Do the modified reports work in the web client?

Are your Desktop and Web Server on 2 different workstations/servers? If so, have you checked your DYNAMICS.SET file for the location of Reports.dic (Modified Reports) on both machines and compared? If both are stored locally C:\Dynamics\Data\Reports.dic and on 2 different PCs then you probably need to import your modified report onto the Web Server.

Hi,

I created a payment voucher using dexterity, it runs fine on the gp desktop but not on the webclient. it does not show even the logo. Kindly help.

You can just use the dexterity to modify the report with same format and deploy it to your GP. Then you can see the report in both desktop and webclient.

How do you make Reports with VBA compatible e.g. can they be added to VSTools like modified windows?

Basically what are the options for replicating the functionality of VBA modified reports in the Web Client

If the web client is looking at the same report as the desktop client, where the report works, then I'd have the same suspicions of VBA as Mahmoud.

You can check this by having a look at the VBA project; Tools >> Customize > Visual Basic Editor and then expanding the Microsoft Dynamics GP Project and looking for the report.

If you do have VBA on the report you would need to look at redeveloping the report to remove it either using Dexterity or Visual Studio.

Chances are you have VBA modifications, if so the VBA is not supported on the web client.

Otherwise, you would be good to go. To check the customization compatibility with the web client, take a look at Will Your Existing GP Customizations Work in GP 2013‌?
