Emails tracked for contacts to appear on Opportunities

Hello,

I would like to know if there is any possible way of seeing the emails that are tracked from Outlook to a CRM contact, on the Opportunity that contact is attached to.

Currently, I see that behavior on Accounts. Assign a contact to an account, track an email to that contact, and the email will be visible on the account profile as well.

Is that possible for the Opportunities entity too?

Thank you!

you have to set the regarding from outlook, it is right next to the track button. Then it will give you the lookup to select the opportunity you wish to connect the email to.

    Hi,

    Thank you.

I would like the tracking from outlook to be performed only for contacts and leads. Mostly, on Contacts actually. And by tracking to contacts, the emails to appear on associated opportunities as well. It happens on Accounts, perhaps because of the default parental relationship between Accounts and Contacts. I tried to create a parental relationship between opportunities and contacts, too, but it didn't let me. Any ideas how I can bypass this?

By tracking and setting the regarding in outlook, it is tracking the email to the contact record for that person, but also allowing you to connect the email to the opportunity. The issue with not wanting to set the regarding for the email but to have all the emails go to the contact and the associated opportunities is that a contact can have several opportunities they are related to. Therefore, there is no way for the system to know which email is in reference to which opportunity.

Say Joe is a contact and has 3 opportunities open with him as the contact, A, B and C. An email comes in about opportunity A. The email will use tracking to connect the email to Joe's contact record, but the system does not know if the email is regarding opportunity A, B or C. So you use the set regarding which will connection from the email to opportunity A, while the tracking of the email will connect the email to Joe's contact record.
