Design modification of Start Date Calc. Method in Deferral Schedule

Hello Team,

One of our customers reported that the usage of Start Date Calc. Method in Deferral Schedule has been changed, and he wanted to know if this is a bug or this feature is modified in new version.

Accounting periods:

Deferral Schedule, Start Date Calc. Method is “End of Period”, since the Posting Date is 4/10/2023, we can see the Start Date id 4/30/2023.

I think it is correct that the Start Date Calc. Method will only affect the start date of deferral schedule (the first posting date), but the customer said that it used to work in different way before (like earlier this year or last year)

i.e. when the Start date was set to “End of Period” it would calculate the deferral schedule with Start date being calculated as EOM and then post all deferrals to the EOM date for each month respectively.

May I know that if the design has been changed?
I have the same question (0)

As far as I know, there have been no updates regarding deferreds posting in the last few versions, the most recent being BC20.
Business Central 2022 wave 1 (BC20) new features: More control over deferrals posting (Beginning of Next Calendar Year as the Start Date)

But this seems to have nothing to do with yours. If it is not caused by customization and is a standard issue, it is recommended to submit an SR to the Microsoft support team.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
