Hi All,

I am new to CRM developement. I have one form in which there is two custom dropdown fields.

I have to populate the dropdowns according to login. Also have to fill the second dropdown according to the value selected in first dropdown.

Ex: Helpdesk system.

There are 3 dropdown fields.

1)Department  2) Section   3)Services

When the user login his Department should be selected on Department dropdown.

And the second dropdown should be filled with the sections related to that department.

And the third dropdown should be filled on selection change of second dropdown.(the services available in the selected section).

Please help me to solve the problem.

Thanks

    1. The department needs to come from somewhere, most logical place for me would be the user entity, maybe through a custom field (with a global optionset). In the onload event of the form (or some other logical event) you can do a rest call to the user entity and get the department.

    2. CRM supports dependent option sets. You can find the documentation here: msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg594433.aspx

    Hi Nithya,

I created 2 Entities like class and sub class. An i am using the same in a form. The filtering for related entities is done. Now I need one thing I have to clear the Text on the sub class when the selected value is changed in class dropdown.

Both class and sub class are dropdowns

    Hi,

You can write javascript code to set the value of subclass to null and add the javascript code in the onchange event of class.

    Thanks
