Notefix Utility for GP 2013

Hi!

We are experiencing issues with cross-linked notes.  Apparently there is a Notefix Utility that can help with this and am trying to load it.  Having issues logging a case with MS Support through CustomerSource.  Does anyone have a copy of it?

Thank you!

Karl

    You should be able to find it by searching for KB872678

    I was able to find it on my machine:

    ________________________

    /*

    ** FindMaxNoteIndex.SQL

    **

    ** Purpose:

    **

    ** Find the max value of NOTEINDX from all tables including Project Accounting.

    **

    ** This script must be run against the company in which the notes are incorrect.

    ** it will automatically update your SY01500 for you to the correct next note index.

    **

    */

    if exists (select * from tempdb..sysobjects where name = '##GPSMaxNote')

    drop table dbo.##GPSMaxNote

    set nocount on

    create table ##GPSMaxNote (MaxNoteIndex numeric(19,5) null)

    go

    You can always call 1-888-477-7877 and have someone in Message Center create the case Karl.

    I ran the query above but it did not fix my note issue.  It appears that any new notes are fine; it is at least one existing note that I can replicate the issue with.

    NoteFix is not going to automatically fix your previous notes. That is the biggest misconception about that tool. It will show you if there are duplicate or cross notes but it is up to you to fix them.

    Ok - So, how are we supposed to "fix" this?

    You use the took Karl to find out what notes are duplicated or cross linked and then you update them. Are you familiar with this tool?

    No, I was hoping I could find the issue and correct them without the tool.

    In doing some additional research into this, I have at least 120 Notes that are cross-linked just in the Payroll Deductions table.

    Will this tool help find these and others?  Also, will it help correct them?

    Karl,

    I would strongly recommend starting a support incident with Microsoft or your partner to resolve this issue, since you've established you have cross-linked notes.
