I have around 85000 records in the configuration package of the table which I want to delete I have tried deleting the records altogether but it's not working I was trying through export import excel but it would delete the database records which I don't want to do, So for now I am deleting line by line but since it's a lot of records it would take many days to accomplish this, I want a quick and authentic solution since I am doing this in a live company.
I have the same question (0)

    Namaste ,

It is not possible to delete records directly from the Configuration Package. Before proceeding with any deletion, please ensure that you take a backup of the data.

Below two options i can suggest

    Option 1
Create a List Page for the table from which you want to delete records (assuming it is a custom table).
Once the List Page is available, you can select the records directly from the page and delete them.
Since the original problem statement does not mention any reference table, it is assumed that there are no dependencies on these tables.

Deletion from custom list page should work .

    Option 2
Create a Custom Report for the specific table.
Add custom AL code within the report to handle deletion of the selected records
This allows you to trigger the deletion process directly from the front end in a controlled manner

Both options will be always useful . Ensure above activity is done by admin and not with all users

I agree with the solution provided by Pallavi Phade.
Could you please confirm whether this is customized table data or base table data?
When inserting data into any table where a primary key is defined, there is a possibility that the table is related to other tables through relationships.
A better approach would be to consult with a developer and create an extension report using AL to delete the data. Always ensure a backup is taken before performing any deletions or modifications.

    Thanks,
    PRao

It is recommended that you customize a small tool to delete it. 85,000 records exceeds the limit for manual deletion.
And although it is not very secure and is not recommended, in the On-Pre version you can open the SQL database and then filter and delete data using SQL statements.

    Thanks.

Suppose you want to get rid of a large number of records from a Configuration Package in Business Central On-Premises quickly without touching the live database and don't want to delete them one-by-one. You can accomplish this easily as follows: create a new Configuration Package for the table, check the box "Delete Table Recodes Before Processing", export the package to Excel, delete all rows in the package except a single one, import the package and apply the package. This will allow you to safely delete all the records in the table in bulk before you apply any new data into that table.
Be sure to back up your data before performing this operation since it will clear the records directly. This is by far the quickest way and most legitimate way to bulk delete configuration package records without having to delete records one-by-one or stave off unintended changes to live data.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I just want to know what exactly you are trying to achieve. I hope there is already data in the environment and either you want to add more data in the table.

Still, if you want to do that that you can adopt the small customisation to do that.

If it's standard tale then you need to choose between config package or may be adding a piece of code to delete the target table.
If it's custom table then I will go with the SQL option deletion.

    hi
To delete a large number of records (e.g., 85,000) in Business Central safely, create a Configuration Package for the table, enable “Delete Table Records Before Processing”, export to Excel, remove all rows except one, then re-import and apply the package. This bulk deletion method is faster and safer than manual deletion, but always back up data first.
