Reporting by Item Category code

Hi all,

I am wondering if there is any way to run any standard reports by item category codes?

I know you can filter on item category code for many inventory related reports. This filter will only display results of one item category code.

Item category code column is not visible on most reports either.

What I am after is to group the report by item category codes.

I am thinking if you want to see the item category code as a column or group by item category code this would be a customisation?

    To add the column probably. The grouping is usually the layout not the report. Any of the reports which use RDLC will have the grouping set there. Alternative being build the view you want in Power BI.

    Hello,

    Adding to what Josh wrote... I have had many customers ask for the Item Category to be used for grouping or summary totals. Sadly, as Josh noted, we had to create an extension to do this. However, with Power BI and Jet Reports it is more advantageous to go this route since Power BI and Jet offer more flexibility and expanding the reporting requirements.

    Attached is a Jet Report on Sales by Item Category.
