we are in process of implementing Dynamics GP. I wanted to know if their is any where online that i can view or print a pdf version of the instruction manual for Dynamics? I found the system users guide but was hoping for something more in detail? I see a lot of videos but will prefer a hands on manual. can you help and any advise you can give to a new user for Dynamics will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Do you have a partner? I would recommend either getting training from them, or asking for access to Microsoft CustomerSource.

I'm not sure what part of the world you are located in, but there are partners all over. I strongly suggest working with a GP partner on your implementation, and having them deliver training before you go live.

Lol...I wasn't sure what were you referring to when you asked if I had a partner. But I just started this job a few weeks back and they have been trying to implement Dynamics for years now but they have only been able to enter the part numbers etc and haven't went live with it yet. I have implemented ERP's before but Dynamics is new to me, I have a good idea on how to go about it but I like to have as much information reference as i can to make sure that i am maximizing the use of the system when configuring it and implementing it.

Mike is correct. You should first check with your partner. If you do not know who your partner is you can call Microsoft Sales Operations at 1-800-456-0025. Do you know if you have access to CustomerSource? There is a wealth of knowledge. You could also ask Sales Operations if they still provide training manuals. These are the same manuals you would get if you took formal training,

You might want to check out my book on implementing Dynamics GP: www.packtpub.com/.../book

It's kind of like a manual and will guide you through it step by step, but also gives you some more ideas/suggestions based on real life experience. It will also explain all the settings for the core modules, which will really help if you have not worked with Dynamics GP before.

I highly recommend Victoria's book. It's the next best thing to having a consultant sitting beside you during implementation. GP is not QuickBooks. You can muck it up quickly if you don't have some guidance.

All of the manuals are available in PDF format once you install the Dynamics GP client. You can access them by clicking on the help icon (?) in the upper right hand corner of the application. If you don't have Dynamics GP installed yet, you can look on the installation media and there is a folder called Documentation. You will find all of the manuals there as well.
