Hi All, I have closed all open ledger entries on item journal but I still get this error, still cannot change unit cost on item card.

you need to explain what problem you are trying to solve by using revaluation journal, and the item costing method setup as well. it's very hard to help without the info.

Hi, are you trying to modify the Unit Cost field directly on the Item card?

When Item Ledger Entries exist, the system does not allow modification of this field.

Both does not happen, i changed unit cost from the revaluation journal it post and update the values but the unit cost on the item does not changes it remains the same. all the ledger entries and negetive stock are closed, costing method is FIFO

Changing an items unit cost directly on the Item Card is only possible at ONE point in time: when there are no Item Ledger Entries for the Item.

Basically: you can set the Unit Cost before using the item... from that point on, the Unit Cost will be calculated by BC, based on transactions (Invoices) and Revaluations.

The only way to change the cost is to correctly revaluate the Item's ledger entries. The OPEN entries that is, since ILE's without a remaining qty no longer have any value in the Unit Cost Calculation.

If you have no open entries... there is nothing you can do now to change the Unit Cost by using the revaluation.

proceed as follows:

Calculate for the requested item and update the Unit Cost (Revalued) field.
