Error 18776 Source MS CRM Monitoring Test

First off, I am a CRM newbie. When I joined my recent employer, I was asked to upgrade from CRM 2015 to 2016. So I have installed and configured CRM 2016 server on premises and it is working fine for now. ADFS 3.0 and SQL 2014 are running on the same VM.

The problem is, I see this error, and error 18732, generated repeatedly. I was wondering how to get rid of it.

    Did you fix this issue? I'm having the same problem.

    Hello,

    Can you please update if you have any updates or fix for the issue? We are facing the same issue for Dynamics 365 9.0 on-premise installation.

    Thanks,

    Sorry I never found a resolution for this, and just let it be.

    Thank you for your reply.

    Please be informed that I found a solution to exclude the SrsDataConnector from MSCRMMonitoring Service, in case you are happy to live with that error.

    To disable SrsDataConnector test follow the below steps

    • Navigate to %ProgramFiles%\Dynamics 365\Monitoring folder
    • Create TestsToExclude.xml file,

    <MonitoringTestsToExclude>

       <Test isDisabled="true">CheckReportServerFromSrsDataConnector</Test>

    </MonitoringTestsToExclude>

    • To test your configurations
      • Navigate to %ProgramFiles%\Dynamics 365\Monitoring\bin folder
      • Run SmoteTests.exe
    • Please note that you don't need to restart any services, as MSCRMMonitoring service will read the file in the next run

    Best regards,

    I just noticed that you have a different error than our environment.

    Your error is

    The permissions granted to user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' are insufficient for performing this operation

    Which looks like MSCRMMonitoring Service, is running using  'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'  instead of a proper service account.  You need to create a service account for each of CRM services and grant it the required permissions as detailed in the below article

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/dynamicscrm-2016/deployment-administrators-guide/hh699825(v=crm.8)#BKMK_MinimumPermissions

    Came across this same error with on-premise Dynamics CRM D365 v9 when setting up a new server.  Fix was to add the account that is running the monitoring service to the ReportingGroup CRM access group - that cleared it immediately and monitoring SmokeTests are now totally clear
