We are coming across this message when trying to run an object or even doing file/database/information from object designer.  We can use the client though.  We are on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 CU 11. We are using Azure SQL for the database platform.
 
These are the things we have tried:
1. Restore of the database from backup
2. Restore of the server from backup
3. Setup a whole new environment i.e new server, new database server, new restored copy of a database which has no issues.

    Hi, looks similar to the question below, I hope it can give you some tips.
    However, if there is no problem after reinstalling the Cronus database, this should be a problem with the database.

    we're having the exact same error with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018 CU 49 and Azure SQL for the database platform.
     
     
    The tier is running but the Development Environment is non accessing the database.
    Did you find a solution?

    We had to change the compatibility mode of the Azure SQL database to SQL 2012

    Hi,

    what compatibility level was configured before you changed it to 110?
    We also have the same issue and are on level 120.

    Microsoft support was as helpful as ever in suggesting a technical upgrade to latest build.
    Did you open a case with them or just found the solution through trail and error?

    I believe the level was at SQL 2016 before changing it to 2012.  It was trial and error.  We also put in a request into Microsoft and they told us the same thing.
