Deep Link & Dynamic CRM For Phone App

Good Day,

Ultimately I'm trying to create an e-mail via a workflow that will include two links to a related record:  One that will open the record in Web CRM (that's easy) and a second that will open the record in the Mobile App (either Tablet or Phone).

I've been able to generate "deep links" using a CodePlex tool HERE and also from the Tablet App.  I'm using CRM 2016 Online - the latest version.

I have had no luck on an Andriod Mobile Phone using either the native e-mail app or outlook app getting deep links to work - either creating one or opening one.

On the phone in the Dynamics CRM (For Phone) app if I select a record and "Share Link" and e-mail the link from and to an e-mail set up account on my phone the deep link is not functional on the phone.  On the draft e-mail that is created only the text is shown ("Record Title/Name (Web Link) and a link is not actually created.

On the tablet app if I select a record and "Share Link" and e-mail the link from and to an e-mail set up on my tablet I can launch the tablet app.  Using that same e-mail link on my phone the Phone App will not launch.

Even if I hard code a URL into an e-mail like this:  ms-dynamicsxrm://?pagetype=<VALUE>&etn=<VALUE>&id=<VALUE> the mobile phone app is still not launched.

The fact "Phone" is specifically called out here and is available to send a link from the phone app tells me this is supported/should work.  Has anyone out there had any luck with Mobile Phone App Record Linking?

Thank-you,

CRMKonrad

    One more update:  I got my hands on an Iphone.

    From the IPhone Dyanmics CRM For Phones app if I "share link" using the native mail client the e-mail is created but is drafted with "ms-dynamicsxrm://?pagetype=etc..." shown as URL Encoded text - not a link - so does not e-mail well.  That's bad.

    If I use my workflow to e-mail the Iphone native app a hard coded ms-dynamicsxrm:// link it actually interprets it correctly and opens the CRM for phones App!  That's good.

    So:

    Sending links from IOS CRM for Phone App using native e-mail - Broken

    Opening Deep Links from IOS Native E-mail App - Works

    Sending links from Andriod (Samsung) CRM for Phone App using native e-mail - Broken

    Did you ever get the links on android working?

    I found that Android mail clients were sanitising any links I emailed as it was a potentially dangerous protocol. The same occurred when I embedded the links in a PDF - the Android PDF viewer disabled the link..

    If I constructed the url, embedded it in an HTML doc then sent that HTML doc by email, I found it worked OK. See the doc below - this opened the create form for a contact.

    I have not yet had any success passing values into the create form using extraqs

    !DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
    <body>

    <a href="ms-dynamicsxrm://?pagetype=create&etn=contact">link without params</a>

    </body>
    </html>

    Hi,

    You can try building the url in below format, which will open record in Dynamic mobile app.

    {baseurl}/m/ef.aspx?etn={entitylogicalname}&id=%7bGUID%7d
