Raw Material picking WMS

Hi there,

I am generating work for raw material picking and it creates the work id with the correct quantities to pick.

When we complete that work and that pick, it looks like the system is then placing stock in the system in the location we need the stock for the rest of the manufacturing orders and automatically picking them. Why is this happening?

Thank you,

    RE: Raw Material picking WMS

It seems that on start it picked all the items that it could from all open production orders. I think i resolved this with the automatic bom consumption parameter, but,

When doing raw material picking for X amount in location A and put to location B. It does that work and then also moves all stock needed for all open production orders to location B automatically.

    RE: Raw Material picking WMS

    Hi Shaun,

The option "Material picking in license plate locations" is used to configure the raw material picking principle for a license plate location:

    - Select Order picking to specify that only the ordered quantity should be picked.

    - Select Staging to specify that the full quantity should be picked from the license plate.

The option can be found in the Warehouse fast tab from the Released products form.

The related Raw material picking Work order is created to pick the needed materials and put them to the Production input location. The work order line quantities are accordingly to the estimated Production order quantities.

When the Item has option "Material picking in license plate locations" = Staging, when doing the picking of the related Work order, the Warehouse worker sees the required quantity (as per Work order line) and inputs the License plate.

But, because of the option "Material picking in license plate locations" set to "Staging", once the License plate was selected, the Worker has to pick the whole quantity of the License plate, not the one from the related Work order line.

The related Work order line quantity is not modified (as this information reflects the estimated quantity from the related Production order), but the related Work order transactions will include transactions for the related Work order line and also for the quantity difference between the License plate quantity and the Work order line quantity.

So, the reported behavior is normal as per current design if the option "Material picking in license plate locations" = Staging.

If option "Material picking in license plate locations" = Order picking, the Warehouse worker will have to pick only the Work order line quantity.

In some implementations, it is more convenient to pick the whole License plate quantity.

The estimated quantity will be used from the Production input location for that particular Production order (which triggered the Raw material picking), while the rest of the quantity will be used for future Production orders.

The option "Material picking in license plate locations" allows you to select the best strategy accordingly to your business requirements.

If you need to pick only the estimated raw material quantity for a Production order, the raw material should be configured with option "Material picking in license plate locations" = Order picking.

    Regards,

    Lucian
