Integration Manager - "ADO Field is nothing" Error

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

All:

I'm attempting to import Vendors for a new implementation and have recieved the following error:

ADO Field is nothing

Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.IntegrationManager.CBOMADO.ADOField.Initialize

I have seen one other post on this forum related to this error, but unfortunately that person did not post the resolution.

Any ideas?

Best,

Todd M Bowlsby

I have seen this error most frequently when you have some sort of special character in one of your column headers. For example 'Customer #' or something like that.

    Hope that helps,

    Kevin:

Thanks for the information.  I checked all the columns and, unfortunately, there are no special characters.

In addition to  the column headers/special characters I have seen this error when the source recordset is not defined in field mapping.   Some of the fields, AddressID in the Addresses folder for one, require the source recordset be defined on the options tab.  Once defined for one field it will serve as default for other fields that require the same.

     Good Luck,

    Debi

Good suggestion.  Unfortunately, I have the Option tabs all set - the Addresses on is pointing to the VendorAddress import file and the Accounts and Options are point to Use Field Source.

Thanks for the suggestion.  This one's got me really stuck!

Apply the latest Integration Manager service pack. That should take care of your issue.

    Mariano:

My bad.  I should've mentioned I've already installed SP4.  The exact version of Integration Manager I'm using is 10.00.1378.

    Thanks anyway, my friend.

Aha! Are you using Microsoft Dynamics GP v10 SP4 too? Integration Manager service packs MUST match Dynamics GP service packs.

Aha! No, I'm on GP SP3.  I'll install SP4 and see how I fare.  Thanks, man.

I installed SP4 for GP and still the same ADO error!  I'm really at a loss as to how to get these Vendors in.

I've also seen this error if the file is opened by another program such as Notepad, Excel, or another process that may be writing to the file from another application (such as the export process used to create the source file).  Also, you should be able to write to the source file and source file location otherwise it cannot create the schema.ini file it needs to create/read.

     Hope this helps.
