cannot find records even if field is searchable, included in Quick Find field and use of *

Hi,

I cannot search for my opportunities even though the fields are

1) made searchable

2) added to the Quick Find views.

3) use * before the search term

These fields are added to the quick find for Opportunity View (Account Name and Contact Name).

What are the other reasons why it wouldn't work?

Kind Regards,

Jeannie

I don't think making the fields search on related entities is going to work with the opportunity.

You mention account name and contact name but these fields are not displayed on the opportunity record.

I added contact to the find columns of the opportunity entity and then I was able to search for contact names and it was filtering on my opportunity search.

so I would try adding account and contact on the opportunity find columns

    Hi Jeannie,

Are your opportunities still open? Also did you add them as Find Columns in the Quick Find View, not only as visiable (View Columns) ?

Closed Opportunities won't be found. By default Quick Find searches only Active (Open) records.

You can also edit the Filter Criteria...

    Hope this helps.

    Hi all,

    Thanks for the input.

    - Yes, opportunities are still open. I tried the search in Open Opportunities View.

    - the fields are visible in the Quick Find View as columns.

    - the fields are visible in the Open Opportunity View.

    - checked, no filters anywhere for all the views.

    -  the fields are visible in the Opportunity Record/Form.

    Anymore ideas?

    Jeannie

    Hello Jeannie,

you still don't say that you added the column to the 'Find Colums' on the Quick Find View, so did you add them there?

    Check this post:

    HI Remon,

Thanks for the post. It the solution!

I 'Add View Column' the fields that I wanted to search for but I did not repeat it for the 'Add Find Column'.

    Regards,

    Jeannie
