Filter Row Definition by Dimension in Accounts Schedules (Financial Reports)

Posted on by 277

Hi friends,

I'm looking for a way to filter the Account Schedules row ( Financial Reports Row Definition ) by Dimensions, here is the case

In the Chart of accounts there are some Expense accounts like Salary, while the accountant record it her will record by dimension , let say department,

These departments should be splitted when creating the Income Statement as some of it will be part of the Direct cost ( Cost of Sales).

The others will be part of Selling & Distributions

the remaining will be part General & Administrative

Thank you

    Hi

You can achieve this from 2 ways:

    1. When you run the Financial Reporting i.e., Account Schedule In the Dimension Fast Tab you will get the Dimensions.

    2) By Analysis View: If you  want to see reporting for Shortcut Dimension also.

    Create Analysis View Card

Tagged with you Account Schedule Rows

Run the Financial Reporting i.e., Account Schedule Report

    Hope It will help.

Here are some documentation around using dimensions in your financial reporting in Business Central. I hope you will find some of that helpful to solve your issues.

    Hi,

On Account Schedules, select your report line & click on Overview.

In this you can see Dimensions Filters Fast tab. Choose your dimension values, system will show transaction data only which have dimension values as your selected.

You can select multiple Dimension values.

    Hope this will help.

    Hi,

You have to choose Different dimension values on each different transaction. As example you suggest Department Dimension.

So when you post any expense entry you have to select Department Dimension value for example you select the Dimension values as Selling so when you check Account Schedules you can get Sperate Selling values.

If you define Department as Shortcut Dimension then you can see it on Gen. Journal Page. and you can select the values.
