CRM 2011 Lync presence

I have enabled presence for the system in the system settings; however, the presence does not work all the time. only with certain views. In CRM 4 the presence works with all e-mail addresses, names and phone numbers, regarless whether they are in a form or a view, Web client or Outlook.

Is there any way to enable presence for all contact names, user names, phone numbers or e-mails whether in a form or a view and in both Web client and Outlook?

The entity exposed in the view has to be email-enabled for Presence to be available (Contacts, Account, Leads, System User, Custom Entities, etc.). You can set presence by adding the Name field to your view (such as Full Name for Contacts, or Account Name for Accounts). Double click on the Column to open the Change Column Properties dialog. There you will see a checkbox for enabling presence for that field. In the screenshot below, I was using the OwnerId column on the Contact entity. In this case, the column is a Lookup to the System User record, which is email enabled...

I got the lync presence enabled in the view by ticking this option(Enable presence for this column). But, I observed that when you enable the presence one more column(internalemailaddress) gets added in the view and when I remove this column, the lync presence option gets unticked.

Is there a way to enable the presence without having the field internalemailaddress in the view?
