Recently came across a default CRM behaviour. Can some one please explain why CRM don't allow users to set Security Role as 'User' 3.JPG, 'Business Unit'4.JPGor 'Parent:Child Business Units'   for following entities.

1. Competitor

2. Product

3. Sales Literature

4. Territory

How to sort out this problem if business don't want to share products with in different Business Unit?

Thanks & Regards

    Hi,

    Yes, you are right

And as well the Price List.

And this is one of the most wanted requirement from client to have multiple Price List ownership.

It is because if you notice in the Entity Setting, the Ownership type is Organization not User or Team.

That's correct. You can not have product based on business unit , products are defined at organization level. If you want to restrict products based on the Business unit create different price list and ask users to use right price list . Price list also organization entity and you can't restrict access based on business unit.

Does it mean that there is no way to have distinct products for different business Units?

These are organization owned entities that's the reason it does not allow you to set privileges by BU or user level
