How to send email from an email provider outside the tenant

Hello,

Is there any way to send email on BC from email provider other than the tenant using BC?
Case1: Send from Gmail.
Case2: Send from another tenant like "aaa@anothertenant.onmicrosoft.com".

Thanks,
S.Kawamura

Yes, There is. You have to set up SMPT  e-mail for that.

You can read more about that setup here:

Hi, as NorthW said, just add a smtp email setup. This is like in NAV.

    For example:

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for your reply.
Do you have any information about risk of using SMTP mail. I'm not sure of my memory, but I seem to remember that the SMTP mail feature was a security risk and that there were plans to make it obsolete as a BC feature.

    Hello,

Best is to use enhanced SMTP mailing with OAUTH authentication type. I did not explore this myself on my test tenants, but this is an option too:

    Thank you.

The smtp option will not be obsolete. There is no indication of that. But in AL there is a new way to implement SMTP compared to older NAV versions.

Eric Hougaard gives an excellent explanation of this is one of his YouTube videos.

And as Marco says. It is always a good thing to implement SMTP is the safest way possible.

Roberto also have a good blog post about emailing from BC.

    Thank you all.

It now seems that I was misunderstanding something. I will follow your recommendation and use SMTP.
