Workflow to send email 1day before specific date

Below is the condition to send out email to account owner and if "End of current financial year" is 31/12/2010 and run the workflow on 30/12/2010, should it match with below condition ? Because I didnt receive email but workflow status is succeed . I hav checked and can successfully send mail with no condition.

If Workflow-Execution Time equals [Days:1 Before Account:End of current financial year], then

send mail...

Is your workflow using the 'workflow execution' timeout until 1 day before...
