Trying to install SQL Server Data Tools and BI on Visual Studio 2012 and 2013 CRM Report Authoring. It's not going well.

I have Professional VS 2012.

I downloaded SSDTBI_VS12_x86 and CRM2013_Bids_ENU_i386.

I installed the Sql Server portion first and did a reboot.

When I try to install the CRM Auhoring portion I get a environment check error. When I double click it is says "Business Intelligence Development Studio is not installed for Microsoft SQL Reporting Services."

I'm at a loss as to why this isn't working.

Anyone experience his problem before?

In order to do CRM reporting you'll need either BIDS 2008 installed from the SQL Server 2008 media (which builds on VS 2008) or the SQL Server Data Tools installed from the SQL Server 2012 media (which builds on VS 2010).

If you don't have the SQL Server media, you can down load the Express versions of the products wit the Advanced Services option and it includes the pieces needed to get reporting working.

There isn't a way to get CRM reporting using FetchXML working with VS 2012 to my knowledge.

So this version of SQL Server 12?

    ENU\x64\SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe

And the 2013 version of CRM Authoring Tool?

That looks correct. There should only be one version of the Report Authoring Extension for CRM 2013
