Notification overview include previous approval

Hi

When a sales order credit limit is approved the notification overview that that the order is approved is send to the requester but previous approvals are also included in the notification overview email.  This did not work like this until about a week ago.

Could this be a bug with a recent upgrade?

Check in Notifications Setup (can be opened from Approval User Setup - for each approver user), if user receives notification for Approval.
It should be just "New Record" if You don't want to receive these. Could be someone added this notification setup there in your system last week?

    Hi Kasper

The Notification setup was like you suggested ie New Record.

I see in the job queue entries, that the Notification Entry Dispatcher had an error for Cheri, the approver.  I restarted this job queue entry and will see if this helps.

According to the users, the notification email gets repeated with exactly the same information.  When a new approval is done, that notification overview gets repeated a few times.

I hope the restart of the Notification Entry Dispatcher will solve the issue.

    Hi,

Thanks for pointing this out! The behavior you're describing—where previously approved sales orders are included in the notification overview email—does seem unusual if it only started happening recently.

Here are a few things to check:

    1. Notification Settings: Review the notification configuration in your environment. It’s possible that a recent update or change to the workflow settings is causing the system to aggregate approvals instead of sending them individually.

    2. Workflow or Power Automate Logic: If you're using Power Automate or a custom workflow for approval notifications, check whether the logic was modified to include historical approvals. A loop or filter condition might have been altered.

    3. System Update or Extension Change: If your environment was recently updated (e.g., new version of Business Central or a third-party extension), this behavior might be part of a new feature or a bug introduced in the update.

    4. User Preferences or Roles: Sometimes, notification behavior can vary based on user roles or preferences. Confirm whether Christelle Heyns has a role that aggregates notifications.

If this change is unintended, I recommend checking with your system administrator or submitting a support ticket to Microsoft for further investigation.

    Hope this helps!
