Bulk Upload On Hand Inventory for Implementation

We have pulled on hand quantities from the client's current system and are trying to upload into a new BC install. We have tried configuration packages, what does anyone recommend as best practice to get these quantities in? Note - we have GL balances loaded, but we need to get quantities in. Do we need to adjust any GL data to accomodate the upload? Thank you in advance!

You need to do this as a physical inventory adjustment.

And you can use edit in Excel on an item journal.

Yes, you will need to reverse the accounting entry made by the item journal. Also, be sure that it makes the GL balance loaded and make sure that you turn OFF direct posting to the GL Inventory account(s) once completed.

Hi, I agree with Kim that the inventory amount and quantity are recommended to be imported in Item journals at the same time, rather than the balance from General Journal and the quantity from another place.

    Hope this helps as well.

    Thanks.
