We recently discovered how to use Supplemental Product Categories to help run our discounts more efficiently. With the discovery, we have been researching the different uses to get the best use out of these categories. We have found the Active/Inactive function of the categories and ran across a few questions.
Providing some context on how we are testing the categories. We have coupons that have exclusions around the holidays and those items become non exclusive the day after the holidays. We are trying to use a category rather than the pull to have to go in and delete the exclusion lines from each coupon.
1. When a category becomes Inactive, shouldn't the item we excluded from the discount now become eligible?
If this is not the case, what is the active/inactive functions within the discounts used for?
2. If this is not the best use of the categories or ease of use for the categories, is there a better course of action?
