Prioritisation of orders and customers

I have a customer who wants to prioritise orders and customers:
"We need to be able to prioritise certain orders over others (e.g. UK Direct customers over intercompany exports).
Could you advise how to achieve that please?  We have customers of our UK company being denied stock for their orders because Business Central has given priority to an export order, we would prefer to control that and prioritise our customers first."

Is this an option to do in BC or does something need to be developed to achieve?

I didn't find anything out-of-the-box in BC. But I did long time ago and it would be nice if it was added.

    Hello,

Standard BC can’t prioritize customers/orders for stock. Allocation is first-come.
Best option: separate Locations (UK vs Export).
    True priority needs customization.

    Hi
There isn't a specific tool like that, meaning, what rules should be applied to choose the priority? I'm sharing this native tool to inspire your solutions. Assign a Priority Level to a Vendor - Business Central | Microsoft Learn

As far as I know, this feature isn't in the standard; it requires customization.
Alternatively, you could submit this idea to Microsoft.

    Hi,

As far as I know, you will need to create a custom solution for it as there is no such thing that exists in standard Business Central.

    Thanks,
