Checking the validity of GB VAT registration numbers

Hello everyone!

As the UK left the EU on the 1st Jan 2021 VAT VIES service is not able to be used to check the VAT reg numbers of UK businesses. I heard that EU VAT numbers can still be checked via Europa using GB VAT number checker (checking the validity of GB VAT registration numbers only) located at: https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-vat-number

But do you know how to setup this? Or maybe there is another option to verify the VAT nubers of UK companies?

I saw this under ideas still waiting on Votes:

Maybe someone from the UK reading the forum can give more information as to what they are doing for their company or customers.
