Sending email from CRM through outlook plugin problem

Hope someone can guide me through this.

I have set up IMAP e-mail for 5 users, and want to be able to send email in CRM. But mostly the email is just sitting in CRM "waiting to be sent" (sale - activities - all emails - status)

This happens sporadic. Sometimes the email will go through, but mostly it will just sit there without any action.

I also have done some research regarding setting up exchange (bought 2 licenses) But I have absolutely no idea how to set this up.

Do your users actually have the Outlook CRM plugin installed?  Are their user profiles set to use Outlook Plugin to send mail?  Have you approved their email addressed on their user account in CRM to verify that everything is correct?  If you send an email from Outlook and click the "Track in CRM" button, does the CRM record actually get created?

Also, don't forget that if you're using the Outlook plugin, the user you're sending mail on behalf of must have Outlook open or the mail won't send.  So if you're running stuff at night to send mail out of CRM, likely it won't go until morning when the users log in.

When this happends, that outlook is not open, the emails will just sit there.

    Hi Kim,

Continuing from where @Wayne left off, the CRM Outlook client should always be up and running in order for the emails to be get sent from CRM.
