Order date is earlier than the work date

Hello experts,

When entering a PO manually, we get this pop-up Order Date 10/15/2025 is earlier than the work date 10/16/2025.  What does this pop-up mean?

We created the PO today and the order date was 10/16 on the PO not 10/15.  Is there a way to stop the message?
I have the same question (0)

You see this because the document’s Order Date (Oct 15, 2025) is earlier than your Work Date (Oct 16, 2025). The Work Date defaults to today unless a user changes it. The system is just warning that you are editing a document dated earlier than your current Work Date. To prevent the message, either set your Work Date to match the document’s date, change the document's Work Date, or ask a developer for a small customization to stop this message. There is no out of the box setting to disable this warning.

You mentioned on your document the order date was 10/16, are you sure that wasn't the posting date or document date? The order date must have been 10/16 if the system was giving you that message.

These are the two dates the system compares:

    Hi,

You can verify the Work Date by going to Settings (gear icon) at the top.

As Valentin mentioned, there is no standard setup to disable this message—it will always appear, typically when a new Purchase Line is created and the Order Date is earlier than your Work Date.

If you want to suppress this pop-up via customization, you can handle it by using the below mentioned event in the Purchase Line table.

    Hope this helps.
