Integrated Security For Our Crystal Reports Has Stopped Working

Sometime late yesterday afternoon, I received a call that someone couldn't run their Crystal Reports that report from Great Plains. These are reports that we never change and they run daily. We use a third party viewer called Logicity to view them. They go into their report, as always, it prompts a Database Login and they choose Integrated Security and then it will run. It has stopped working for everyone in the company. The work around is to type in the SA login and password but we can't give that out to everyone. So it works when typing in SA login and password but no longer works with Integratged Security.

The first thing I checked was the ODBC connection...I reentered the login info and did a TEST CONNECTION and it was fine. I removed the ODBC connection and recreated it and same error:

Beyond rebooting the SQL server (which I can't yet today), does anyone have any suggestions and any clues as to why it would just suddenly break?

Thanks!

    Hi Brian,

Wondering if it's because of a recent Windows update (KB3163017 or KB3163018 depending on location) that may affect users running Windows 10? I had a similar error when working on a project, not with GP, but with SQL and Crystal Reports - those CR reports and two client machines could not talk to SQL server suddenly. Uninstalling the update should work, but it's not recommended because of security risk.

For me, I replaced the report connection with a new OLEDB connection; but it took some time for re-mapping the fields and some fine tunes. Hope this help.

    Cheers,

    Jimmy

I rebooted our SQL server after hours and it fixed this up. I know that is never a FIX but it got us working again. Oh the trials of being the SOLO IT Director/Admin where they want you to do all things IT. :) Thanks for the tips and I'll refer back to this should this problem return.
