Dynamics CRM 2011 without an Active Directory on Windows Server

You can install Dynamics CRM 2011 without an Active Directory??? I'm investigating if it works with Open LDAP. Anyone hear anything???

    No - Active Directory is required - no other authentication mechanisms are supported currently.

    "â—¦Select the OU in your Active Directory that will contain Microsoft Dynamics CRM system groups and click on Next."

    So Active Directory is required. This is what  as mentioned in IG
