Migrate records from a Dynamics CRM Cloud instance to an other.

Hello, I am trying to retrieve multiple records of an entity from a Dynamics CRM instance and create them in an other instance.

The retrieve is well done, but when I try to create them in the second instance, there are many exceptions of missing GUID (ownerid, createdby, transactioncurrencyid ...),

Is there any solution for that please.

And thanks.

Yes, if you are using the Ownerid, transactioncurrencyid from the source instance, that would be different in the target instance.

So, You will get this error.

The problem is that I should figure out a solution wchich does that Independently of what entity it is or what are the attributes of that entity. It may have a lot of entityReference attributes.

The general approach is that you'll need to get the GUIDs for the corresponding systemuser, transactioncurrency etc. records in the destination instance. You'll need to determine how you match the records: transactioncurrency should be straightforward based on currencycode, but for users it depends if corresponding records exist in the destination instance. If there isn't a match, you may need to set the GUID to that of a designated default record

Note that not all attributes are updatable, so you shouldn't try to set them in the migration; for example createdby
