A question from a newbie here

I wonder if this below automation is possible by a WF or Flow

I am adding a new Auto number field that should have the YEAR+Serial Number
So the field should be auto named in the forma 2023-CZ123456
The serial numbers will be a normal auto number but I would like the year "Prefix" to update automatically with a 2024 prefix that would only affect the new created records
So all fields created this year will be 2023-1, 2023-2, 2023-3 and now we have a new year, the auto numbering will continue as a serial number (not from 0) and proceed as 2024-4, 2024-5

Thank you for any suggestions

Cheers and thanks a lot... Adding a date prefix is something I have missed... That´s a great start

Will check the format of that Date and if it can be changed but it definitely offers a possible solution/compromise to the client

You can set a custom autonumber type.

Example for you : {DATETIMEUTC:yyyy}-{SEQNUM:6}
