Editing Opportunity Sales Process or Sales Stage options

Hello,

I am not too familiar with the new interface of '13 dynamics CRM for Office365. I created and was able to edit the sales process of our opportunities before this update, but now whenever I try renaming a stage, i get an unexpected error:

An error has occurred.

Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics CRM Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support.

I tried deactivating the process and moving our opportunities away from this stage, but still I was not able to rename it. However, I was able to add a new stage to our process, thinking I would just delete the old one and replace it with this new one. But then, when trying to edit the "Sales Stage" field of the opportunity, it only shows the old option set, which I can't seem to edit (I want to remove the old process stage name from there and add a new one). What is going on?

BR,

Tomas

    Hi Tomas,

If you go to Settings > Process Center > Select Business Process Flows View

You can open the Opportunity Sales Process business process flow and edit the stages there. I hope this is what you mean. This will change the stages and options which show at the top of an opportunity.

    Regards,

    Nikesh

    Hi,

If you see a drop down then it is probably the 'Sales Category' rather than the stage (which is a text field).

To edit the Sales Categories you can edit the global Option Set called ‘Stage Categories’ under Settings-> Customizations->Customize the System-> Option Sets-> ‘Stage Categories’

Note: this is a single list that is used across all business process flows.

    Hope this helps,

    Scott
