accidentally closed 2 fiscal years

Posted on by 5,124

Hello Experts,

OUr accounting department inadvertently closed the 2020 and 2021 fiscal years in Accounting Period. We are using Nav 2013.  I know you cannot reopen closed fiscal year, unfortunately.

So i need to reopen these fiscal years manually in the backend.  Have you guys ran into this kind of problem?  How did you reopen the fiscal year period?  E.g., is it just table 50 (accounting period) that we have to modify change value of Closed = False?  It seems too good to be true.  There must be more tables to modify.  This happened in our Consolidated company so it's tough coz i can't just restore a backup.  My other option is to manually blank out all consolidated company tables and replaced with the back up for these tables but that seems too far fetched.

Please help!

Thank you Teddy...However, I looked into the code and there's an event that gets triggered when you close the fiscal year.  I haven't fully traced the code but it seems like it's touching the financials data.  Hence, I hesitated to just simply set the value to false on the OPEN field.

the closing year does not do much in NAV. it is just tagging accounting period Closed = true.

Changing the value to false from backend should fix your issue.
